1 Introduction
At Little Sunshine, we believe that childhood is a collection of golden moments that deserve to be protected and nurtured. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the agreement between you and Little Sunshine (“we”, “us”, “our”), and cover your use of our website and the suite of family, event, and play services we provide.
By using our website and engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
2 About Us
Little Sunshine is a Canadian-based corporation dedicated to supporting the "sunshines" in your life—from expectant parents to growing children. We bridge the gap between high-end care and magical play through:
- Boutique Play Experiences: Premium teepee rentals and sales, including sensory-friendly and imaginative play pavilions.
- Milestone & Event Coordination: Styling and atmosphere management for celebrations and "just because" moments.
- Personalized Family Support: Maternal support, respite care, and specialized developmental support.
Our services are supportive and developmental in nature. We do not provide emergency medical or acute crisis services.
3 Confidentiality and Data Protection
Trust is the foundation of our family support. We operate on a confidential basis to ensure you feel safe sharing your family’s unique needs. Confidentiality may only be broken in rare circumstances required by Canadian law:
- If there is a serious risk to your life or the life of others.
- In accordance with provincial Mandatory Reporting laws regarding the safety and well-being of a child.
- If required by a valid court order or subpoena.
We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and relevant provincial privacy legislation. For more details on how we handle your family’s data, see our Privacy Policy.
4 Client Conduct & Safety
Threatening or abusive behaviour towards our staff, stylists, or caregivers will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of services without a refund.
While our teepees and play spaces are designed for safety, adult supervision is required at all times during use to ensure the safety of the children.
5 Service Requirements
To provide high-quality care and support, we require:
- Accurate disclosure of any allergies, medical conditions, or developmental needs of the children in our care.
- An emergency contact and, where applicable, the name of your family physician/pediatrician.
- A safe, clean environment for our team to set up events or provide in-home support.
6 Crisis Support & Suitability
Little Sunshine offers supportive care. We are not equipped to handle acute medical emergencies or severe mental health crises. If you are in Canada and in need of immediate help, please contact:
7 Bookings and Payment
- › Play Rentals & Events: Payment for teepee rentals and event styling is required in advance to secure your date.
- › Family Support: Fees for maternal support and childcare assistance are billed accordingly.
- › All prices are in CAD (Canadian Dollars) unless otherwise specified.
8 Cancellation and Rescheduling
When you book with us, we reserve equipment and staff specifically for your family.
Event/Rental Cancellations
Please provide at least 7 days notice for a full refund.
Late Cancellations
Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will be credited towards a future reservation, and less than 24 hours will be charged a 60% fee retained for logistics, remainder issued as credit.
9. Disclaimer & Equipment Use
The content on our website is for informational purposes. While we offer "specialized care," this is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological diagnosis.
For teepee rentals: Little Sunshine is not liable for injuries resulting from the improper use of equipment or lack of parental supervision.
10. Limitations of Liability
Little Sunshine does not accept liability for:
- Loss of website access due to technical issues.
- Incidental damage to property during event setup (unless caused by gross negligence).
- Allergies or sensitivities to materials not disclosed by the client in advance.
- Technical difficulties with third-party payment processors.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect our growing services. The latest version will always be published on our website with a new Effective Date.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of Nova Scotia.
